Love on the run by Keith  Tong

I have waited, and you have come.

See how much I love you:

kidnapped meditations

taken by surprise;

rites

held hostage,

building bonds

one bit at a time-

there’s nothing I can do

when I think of you late at night:

the twilight hour

where our destiny meets.

Scorched edges,

perfect on paper.

Dates on my fingers

falling,

wrecked.

Undercover heat

planning for love

for her honour.

Courtesans and opium

breathe deep,

immune –

how do I love thee?

This I believe:

make me forget

the I in we,

the art of affection.

All that I have,

all that we say is ours,

all that divides us:

impossible objects.

From the earth

to the moon,

find me,

finding a way home.
