 Description

How do you begin a photographic documentary project? Where does the project take you when you start? In this discussion, Tom White will discuss how the photographic essay can be utilised as a research methodology and integrated into practical projects. What questions can you ask before you begin to photograph and how do you approach working in the field? Once you start, how do the images produced inform the project and once you are finished, what then?

Looking at the work of photographers held in the library such as Susan Meiselas, Josef Koudelka and Allan Sekula, as well as his own recent projects, Tom will facilitate an open discussion around these topics.
