2019 Singapore Poetry Writing Month :: Join Us!

April is Singapore Poetry Writing Month (SingPoWriMo)! The Library and the Writers’ Centre are co-hosting communal poetry writing activities throughout April in honor of SingPoWriMo.  SingPoWriMo, short for Singapore Poetry Writing Month, is a challenge to write one poem every day in April and post it on social media.  We plan to submit one poem each day written collaboratively by the Yale-NUS community at a typewriter in the library. An upcoming open mic session at the end of the month is also in the works, so stay tuned for more information!

We have invited different groups of staff, faculty and students will be to kick off the communal poem for each day. We hope to showcase a wide variety of Yale-NUS community voices and encourage all of you to contribute to this collaborative activity.

All it takes is the following:

  • Visit our SingPoWriMo station at the Library’s exhibition space from 1-30 April (Level 2).
  • Contribute a line or two to the community poem using the typewriter.
  • Spread the word to friends and colleagues to do the same throughout the month.

We look forward to seeing your wordsmithing!
